Carolina Championship of Beers

Welcome to the Carolina Championship of Beers Registration and instructions site.

Brewers please read all instructions before registering and packing your entry.

STEP 1: SELECT BEER FOR ENTRY

Each eligible brewery may enter an unlimited number of beers in The Carolinas Championship of Beers (CCB). Brewers should only enter beers that they intend to serve at the 2012 Hickory Hops festival. Provide two samples of at least 12 oz. each. Commercial bottles, hand-filled bottles and growlers are acceptable.

STEP 2: REGISTER YOUR BEERS

Fill all requested information on the forms you recived from Bobby or register online HERE

Use the password provided in your information packet or contact Jason Howard at jason@howardhomes.us to access Brewers Registration page.

Please note that in many categories, brewers are encouraged to provide additional info about special ingredients. This should be written on each label or entered in the appropriate field online.

Enclose $10 per entered beer.

STEP 3: LABEL YOUR BEERS

A CCB label, see enclosed, should be firmly attached to every bottle. Complete the labels with a pen that will not run if wet or print labels during online registration. Unidentifiable or illegibly labeled bottles will be excluded from the competition. Judging is blind, so commercial labels may be left on bottles and growlers, however a CCB label is still required.

STEP 4: SHIP YOUR BEERS

Beers and registration forms may be hand delivered to Olde Hickory Tap Room during normal business hours. Beers may also be shipped to the Tap Room address. Be sure to include the registration form.

Packing Your Beer

To avoid breakage, the CCB organizers strongly recommend following these guidelines for shipping your beer. CCB is not responsible for broken bottles. An entry that does not include enough beer (I.e. one bottle breaks) will not be judged. Confirmation of safe receipt of beer can be obtained by contacting Bobby Bush after the beer has had sufficient time to arrive.

1 Wrap each properly labeled bottle individually in bubble wrap.

2. Place all bottles upright in a cardboard box. Separate bottles with cardboard.

3. Tightly fill space between bottle with packaging material such as crumpled newspapers. Please do not use packaging peanuts.

4. Place this sealed box in a plastic bag and then place the box, with bottle tops pointed up, in a larger cardboard shipping box. Use packaging material to fill the voids, on all six sides, between the small box and the larger one. Place a copy of your registration between boxes. Retain a copy for your own records.
